Federal Agencies

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires all federal agencies to establish and maintain web environments that are accessible to people with disabilities. The AlwaysAccessible® Network provides Federal government Web Masters with the resources needed to achieve and maintain a level of accessibility that meets and exceeds the requirements of the law.

State and Local Governments

According to the Department of Education, States receiving assistance under the Assistive Technology Act State Grant program are required to comply with section 508 and the accessibility standards published by the Access Board. Associations and Non-Profit Organizations

There are over 20,000 associations in the Unitied States alone. It is estimated that seven out of every ten Americans belongs to an Association. It is also estimated that two out of every ten Americans has a disabillity. The AlwaysAccessible® Network helps Web Masters make the Association fully accessible to all of its members.

Educational Institutions

An enormous problem facing the post secondary learning institution is equal access to the web by students with disabilities. More and more, the web is becoming integrated into the educational landscape. Many institutions now use the web for functions such as registration, book ordering, course work distribution and collection, and social event coordination. The AlwaysAccessible® Network can help university Web Masters improve accessibility to the learning process for all people.

According to a 1992 U. S. Census study, there are 49 million Americans with disabilities controlling $175 billion in discretionary income. As more and more individuals with disabilities enter the workforce, their purchasing power will increase. Like any other customer, customers with disabilities become loyal users and advertisements for the products and services of a company when their needs are met.
